Ingredient guide

L-citrulline vs. L-arginine: read beyond the front label.

Different amino acids, different forms—and numbers that do not always compare directly.

Both ingredients appear in nitric oxide products, but their presence alone is not a reason to choose a formula. To make a useful comparison, write down the ingredient form, amount per serving and any other active ingredients in the product.

The connection

Arginine participates in nitric oxide production. Citrulline can be converted into arginine and may raise blood arginine more efficiently than consuming arginine itself. That mechanism does not guarantee a noticeable benefit. NIH ingredient overview ↗.

Match like with like

L-citrulline and citrulline malate are not identical by weight. Arginine nitrate combines arginine with nitrate, so its total weight cannot be read as pure arginine or pure nitrate. If the manufacturer does not quantify a component, leave that field unknown.

Powder versus capsule

A powder may make gram quantities easier to fit into one serving, but you still need to measure it and tolerate the taste. Capsules may suit a routine better; check how many make up a full serving. A bottle containing 60 capsules does not automatically contain 60 daily servings.

A practical comparison

JOYMODE HARD+ and Snap Nitric Oxide Booster both list citrulline and arginine-related ingredients. Their formats, accompanying ingredients and dose disclosures differ. Use the label table to examine those differences without treating a larger number as proof of a better clinical outcome.
