The largest number on a supplement label can describe a whole powder, a compound, a blend or one active ingredient. Identify which before comparing two products.
Four useful examples
| Number | What it tells you |
|---|---|
| 2,500 mg arginine nitrate | The compound’s weight. It includes arginine and nitrate; it is not 2,500 mg nitrate. |
| ≈675 mg nitrate in HARD+ | A JOYMODE-supplied estimate, using approximately 27% of the compound’s weight. Supplier assay not reviewed. |
| 400 mg in Beet It Nitrate 400 | The manufacturer-declared dietary nitrate amount in one 70 ml shot. |
| 500 mg beetroot in original Heart Chews | The beetroot powder weight. It does not state the amount of nitrate. |
Where the approximately 675 mg nitrate figure comes from
JOYMODE’s founder supplied an approximate nitrate contribution of 675 mg per serving on September 8, 2026. The calculation is 2,500 mg arginine nitrate × approximately 27% nitrate = approximately 675 mg nitrate.
This is a brand-reported estimate. We have not reviewed the supplier specification or a batch certificate of analysis confirming that fraction. The arginine nitrate amount alone does not verify the exact nitrate content. Nitrate ingested is also not the amount of nitric oxide your body produces. We apply the same source distinction to every brand.
Keep nitrate and nitrite separate
Sodium nitrite appears in some dissolving-tablet formulas. Nitrite is not nitrate. A proprietary blend containing sodium nitrite does not reveal its nitrite content, and its total cannot be entered into a nitrate comparison.
Do not turn an intake number into a result
The amount swallowed is not the amount of nitric oxide produced. Likewise, a higher nitrate amount does not establish a larger benefit or greater safety. Compare the ingredient form and study protocol, and have the full formula reviewed if you take medicines.
